Members of our church family come from varied backgrounds and join together in mutual acceptance and faith.
Many people belong to our church family as friends who participate in our church's life and work. Those who desire to vote in church affairs or hold office can unite with us as members.
Members are received through Baptism, Confirmation or Confession of Faith, Reaffirmation of Faith, or Letter of Transfer from another Christian church.
As part of the United Church of Christ, we are a family of caring people who are allowed to be themselves without pretense or judgment.
Union Congregational Church was established in 1871 and built the first church building in Green River in 1884.
The name of Union Congregational Church was taken in 1916, since there were no Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian or Lutheran churches here at that time, and many religious backgrounds comprised the membership.
Our current membership is near 200, a far cry from the seven who comprised the congregation in 1885.
We provide a warm, outgoing and accepting atmosphere to all, in all aspects of fellowship.
It is our church' s goal to provide to all the Word of God and the way it relates to our daily lives.
The Union Congregational Church is a member of the Wyoming Association and the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Church of Christ. Through these organizations, Union Congregational Church participates in the national and international ministries of the United Church of Christ. Support of these ministries is a priority of the Union Congregational Church.
