While in seminary, Dr. Tutterrow served a rural church in Kentucky. After graduation, he moved to St. Augustine, Florida where he was pastor of Anastasia Baptist Church. Later he served Azalea Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, Florida and College Avenue Baptist Church in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Elaine Tutterrow recently retired after being an elementary school principal in Caldwell County, North Carolina. Curtis and Elaine are parents of two children and grandparents of two grandchildren. They enjoy outdoor activities, hiking, and travel. They are both certified SCUBA divers and enjoy traveling to places where the water is clear. |

Curtis H. Tutterrow became pastor of Union Congregational Church in December, 2008. After more than 20 years as a Southern Baptist pastor, he joined the United Church of Christ in 2003. Before coming to Wyoming, he served Church of the Master United Church of Christ in Hickory, NC. Prior to that, he served Baptist churches in Kentucky, Florida and North Carolina.
After finishing high school in Bradenton, Florida, he attended Stetson University, where he majored in religion. That is also where he met his wife Elaine who is from Jacksonville. Upon receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree, he and his wife went to Louisville where he attended The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 1973 and a Doctor of Ministry in 1976.While in Florida he served as a Stewardship Consultant and Church Training Consultant for the Florida Baptist Convention. He also led seminars in goal-setting. He taught in the Southern Baptist seminary extension program and has served in evangelism mission projects in Jamaica and a stewardship project in the Republic of South Africa.
